I love fall. Everything about it. The colors. The crispness in the air. My wedding anniversary! It's just a wonderful part of the year. I've been getting lots of miles in too and honestly feel that if I were to train for a half in this weather I would do well. Maybe something to consider for next year.
For now I am focusing on my speed. I am running my first 10K race this weekend. It's on Sunday. I posted about it below in another post. The course is described as "fast and flat". That's my kind of course ;-). The following weekend is the Race for the Cure. It's a 5K course. I ran it last year and had my best ever 5K time. So hopefully my time will show improvement this year as I have been training much harder! Fingers crossed.
I also have HUGE news to share! Long story short, our local YMCA (which is less than two miles from my house and my home away from home 5 days a week) is partnering up with my son's elementary school to do a 5K run this spring...and GUESS WHO is the Race Director? Um...yah! That would be me!!!!!! I am actually co-directing with the Executive Director of the Y so that both the school and the Y's interests are represented. I have NEVER done anything like this before but am so stoked about the prospect of seeing this event grow into a community event; as well as benefit both our school and the Y's scholarship program! It's just so exciting to think about and especially because my hubby learned that we may be staying on here for three more years!!! So unlike most other things that I am around to help lay the ground work for, I can actually see how this event grows each year! I am just so excited about it.
So there. That's my update and good news! I am out of my funk now. Thanks for your partience. Now I need to catch up with all of you! ;-)

OK that is COOL!! I will be so curious to see what you learn being the BIG DOG Race director.. Race for the Cure FUN!! I just announced that I will be running for Marathon for the Cure next year :)
